For the past two years I have served on a committee of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce called Women in Business. As a part of my service I have worked on a sub committee, The WIB Scholarship Program. The committee members are a fine group of women with a mutual desire to help other women. Each year the WIB Scholarship Program awards money donated by business owners and generous folks who care about the well being of these women in need. Scholarships in the past have provided assistance to an abused woman who aspired to become a geriatric nurse; supported a caring individual left physically disabled after an accident, who wished to further her education in counseling psychology; enabled a single mother of four to pursue a life-long dream of studying computer-aided design; aided the single parent of a young child as she completed her nursing degree. Since 1983 over $168,000 in scholarships have been awarded by the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Scholarship Program. The scholarships are available to women beginning or continuing their professional or business careers within the following parameters:

• Applicable to an accredited institution
• Applicant must demonstrate educational merit and financial need
• Must be a woman age 25 or older, who is a Bucks County PA resident
• Must be a United States Citizen
